The Huntington Beach Art Center (HBAC) is a non-profit arts and culture center that serves the City of Huntington Beach, California, and the surrounding region of Southern California. The Art Center launched to the public in 1995 and exhibits works by artists working in a variety of mediums. HBAC promotes public awareness and comprehension of cultural, historical, and contemporary views through exhibits, performances, film/video screenings, talks, and education programs.

HBAC fosters an environment conducive to research, learning, and experience for local, regional, and national artists and the broader community. The Huntington Beach Art Center is a public-private partnership between the City of Huntington Beach and the Huntington Beach Art Center Foundation, a not-for-profit private corporation. The Art Center is managed by the Cultural Services Division of the City of Huntington Beach’s Community Services Department.

The Art Center Foundation was established in 1989 to fundraise for the Art Center’s development and program investment. From 1989 to 2002, the Foundation’s principal fundraiser was the yearly Summer Classic Equestrian event. The Foundation continues to collect contributions throughout the year via a range of unique events and has raised more than $2 million towards the Art Center’s remodeling, activities, and operations. Exhibitions in Galleries

The exhibition program showcases modern artists working in a variety of media. The HBAC has developed a national prestige for showcasing both renowned and developing artists. The exhibition program opens each year with Centered on the Center, a yearly open-call community exhibit of local and regional artists that gathers roughly 300 artists for the salon-style display.

HBAC’s Art Collection

Art at the HBAC, a famous art camp for kids aged 6 to 12, provides a week-long exploration of the performing arts. From June through August, half-day classes are provided. Per week, taught by expert artists, a new theme is explored through a range of media, allowing your youngster to experience a lot of artistic expressions.
